Department Summary

  • The department provides leadership for curriculum development, instructional practices, academic programming, and assessment systems. This includes supporting alignment with learning standards, monitoring student progress, reviewing instructional resources, analyzing data, and helping ensure that classroom practices meet the needs of all learners.

  • The department supports strong instructional leadership across the district by promoting effective teaching practices, reflective collaboration, data informed decision making, and continuous improvement. This work is focused on strengthening student engagement, improving learning outcomes, and ensuring that instruction remains responsive, equitable, and aligned with district goals.

  • The department oversees advanced academic programs and enrichment opportunities designed to support students who are ready for additional challenge, depth, acceleration, or specialized learning experiences. This includes coordinating program access, reviewing student data, supporting instructional planning, and ensuring that advanced learning opportunities are meaningful and appropriately aligned.

  • The department coordinates professional development for certified and noncertified staff in support of district priorities, instructional improvement, student support, compliance, and staff effectiveness. Professional learning is designed to be practical, relevant, and connected to the needs of educators, students, and schools.

  • The department supports the recruitment, selection, and hiring of qualified staff members who contribute to the mission and culture of Diamond Lake School District 76. This includes coordinating hiring processes, supporting administrators, maintaining personnel procedures, and helping ensure that the district attracts and retains talented educators and support staff.

  • The department oversees employee certification, licensure, approvals, endorsements, and related personnel records. This work helps ensure that staff meet applicable state requirements and that personnel documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with district, state, and federal expectations.

  • The department coordinates personnel evaluation systems and supports administrators and staff in the implementation of fair, consistent, and growth oriented evaluation practices. The goal is to promote professional reflection, continuous improvement, accountability, and high quality service to students and families.

  • The department supports employee onboarding, mentoring, orientation, and retention efforts to help staff feel prepared, connected, and valued. By strengthening the employee experience, the department helps build a stable, skilled, and committed workforce across the district.

  • The department supports effective human capital practices, including staffing procedures, personnel policies, employee relations, compliance requirements, and coordination with district leadership. This work helps ensure that personnel decisions are thoughtful, ethical, legally compliant, and aligned with the needs of students and schools.

  • The department serves as the district contact for Title IX coordination and supports the district’s commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and nondiscriminatory learning and working environment. This includes coordinating related procedures, supporting access to required forms, and helping ensure that concerns are addressed in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and district protocols.

  • The department works in partnership with school leaders, staff, families, and stakeholders to support equitable access to learning opportunities, effective personnel practices, and continuous improvement across the district. Through thoughtful planning, professional learning, and responsive support, the department helps advance the academic and organizational goals of Diamond Lake School District 76.
